Cancellation/Late Arrival/Rescheduling/No-Show
Life happens, AND I need to honor my time commitment and my financial commitments. This makes creating and implementing a compassionate cancellation policy quite tricky. In 2024, I did not charge any cancellation fees. To be candid, cancelled appointments with no cancellation fee cost me a significant amount last year. As a solo business owner, this isn’t sustainable. I deeply desire to walk the middle path of doing business in a human way while creating financial and energetic sustainability. Therefore, I will be faithfully implementing the following policies:
◦ Emergencies: We all get sick or have emergencies with kids, pets, injuries, traffic accidents, etc. Therefore, I will offer one emergency cancellation per month with no fee. This cancellation does not require 24 hours notice. Subsequent emergency cancellations will incur a cancellation fee of 50% of session rate unless you reschedule.
•
◦ Non-Emergencies: Cancellations with less than 24 hours notice will incur a cancellation fee of 50% of session rate. Even 24 hours is not enough time for me to fill client spaces and I know family and work-related incidents may occur. My time needs to be accounted for, and if I do not protect my time, I suffer financially. I realize that I don’t require credit cards to be on file, so I’m entrusting you to honor this policy and my time. If not honored, I will require pre-payment for future sessions.
•
◦ Rescheduling: If you need to reschedule your appointment, please allow at least 24 hours notice. There will be no penalty for rescheduling. I understand that a same day emergency may occur and as long as you reschedule immediately, there will be no penalty.
•
◦ Frequent Cancellations: I want to work with clients when the time is right. If a client needs to cancel often (more than 1-2x per month consistently), it may not be the best time for us to work together. Frequent cancellations can become an interruption to the working relationship and progress. In an effort to protect both of us, frequent cancellations may result in ending the client/therapist relationship.
•
◦ Late Arrival: It is your responsibility to arrive a few minutes early so we can start on time and keep track of appointments. I do send a reminder text the day before and I’d invite you to set additional reminders. If you are late to our session (15 minutes or less), your session will reflect the time difference and you will still be responsible to pay the full session rate.
•
◦ No-Show: A session with be considered a “no show” if you do not arrive within 15 minutes of your scheduled time. “No show” session will require payment in full.
Massage Termination:
Only professional massage and bodywork services for relaxation or therapeutic purposes are offered at this massage practice. Massage services will be terminated immediately in the event of inappropriate conduct of any kind. This includes harassment, threatening speech or behavior, sexual advances or requests, or disrespectful actions or language. A session will not be conducted if the client s under the influence of drugs or alcohol. If the massage is terminated for any of these reasons, full payment for the scheduled session is still required.
Draping Policy:
Clients will be appropriately draped with a sheet at all times during their massage. Only areas of the body that are currently being treated will be exposed. The breast and genital areas will always remain draped and are never massaged.
